Wakas At Simula: SB19 Concert

This concert was really something. We were a ton, but somehow it still felt intimate; as if despite the massive crowd, everyone was gathered inside the same little bubble of excitement. I was just genuinely happy to be there, and surprisingly, there were a lot of us who attended alone too (at least sa Gold Section), which made it feel less awkward and comforting in a quiet way.

I missed the fan booths at Parqal and all the mga pakulo because I simply couldn’t take the heat and honestly, wala pud koy capacity to bring too much abobot home if I ended up accumulating a lot hahaha. But I made sure to arrive early, sakto lang to avoid getting stuck in traffic and to buy merch without rushing.

By around 3 PM, people were already filling the streets, all walking toward the event. A’tin were joking, “asan daw ang welga?” hahahaha and true enough, it really looked like one. A sea of people moving in one direction, carrying banners, freebies, lightsticks, excitement. It felt less like a concert crowd and more like a movement. And it truly is. There were a few more little moments like that throughout the day, the kind that felt so light and funny and strangely endorphine-inducing, the kind that keeps making you smile to yourself.

The whole concert felt unreal and amazing at the same time. What a production! And SB19 are just absolute beasts on stage, giving their all every single second. My favorite part was the pre-concert kamustahan and karaoke haha whoever thought of that was so clever as it made the waiting feel like part of the show itself. The intro and final act were kabog too, plus the introduction of new/guest artists made everything feel bigger, fuller, and exciting.

When Go Up played, grabe ang nostalgia gyud huhu. Their ballads were sooo good too; soft in the chest, goosebumps everywhere. And their trending songs? Very impressive, no words at all seeing them performed live. Walang tapon gyud – even their VTR’s are well thought and gigastosan gyud! There were, of course, a few technical issues and imperfections, but they were barely noticeable at the very least.

I whispered a wish that night, and somehow it was granted hahaha. I still don’t know how, but that tiny unexpected moment made my whole night even more magical. So even if 2AM nako nakauli and I was beyond exhausted, I still went home smiling. Super awesome moment.

And when it was finally time to go, even the walk to MOA felt calm and bouncy. I didn’t feel unsafe, not even for one second. It was spacious, well-organized, and marshalls were everywhere, making the whole exit feel surprisingly easy despite the thousands of people. Somewhere during that walk, I even exchanged my Pablo card for Ken 😂 such a random little ending to such a beautiful night.

Wakas at Simula really lived up to its name; an ending, a beginning, and one night that still doesn’t feel entirely real to me. Still in awe. Still smiling. Still very, very happy I attended.
