What to Expect After Creating Your MP2 Account
1. Account Activation
MP2 accounts usually take 3-7 business days to be activated after enrollment.
You may also check your Virtual Pag-IBIG account to see if an MP2 account appears there.
2. Contribution Posting Delays
It’s normal to experience:
- Delayed posting of payments
- Contributions reflecting end-of-month or later
This does not affect dividend eligibility as long as payment is recorded within the year.
3. Dividend Credit Schedule
Dividends are declared annually (usually around Q1–Q2 of the following year)
Rates vary yearly and are not guaranteed, but historically competitive
4. Lock-in Period
MP2 has a 5-year maturity
Early withdrawal is allowed only under specific conditions (e.g., death, disability, medical reasons)
5. You Can Open More MP2 Accounts
Many savers:
- Open a new MP2 account every year, or
- Separate accounts by goal (travel, retirement, education)
